# Add FreshlyCited as a Claude.ai connector

Claude.ai can use remote MCP servers as **custom connectors**. FreshlyCited signs you in with OAuth, so there's no key to paste.

## Steps

1. In Claude.ai open **Customize › Connectors**.
2. Click **+ Add**, then **Add custom connector**.
3. Name: `FreshlyCited`. Remote MCP server URL: `https://freshlycited.com/mcp`.
4. Click **Connect**. You land on the FreshlyCited consent screen.
5. Sign in, choose the workspace (your agency or one client) and the access level: **Full access** (push and check, spends credits) or **Read-only**. Click **Allow**.
6. In a chat, open the tools menu and make sure FreshlyCited is enabled.

## Plans

Custom connectors are available on Free (one custom connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. On Team and Enterprise an Owner adds the connector under **Organization settings › Connectors**; members then connect their own FreshlyCited login.

## What Claude sees

The connection acts as you, in the workspace you chose, with your role there (or read-only). Revoke it any time in FreshlyCited under **API keys › Connected apps**, or remove the connector in Claude. Claude uses the callback `https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback`.

## Check it works

Ask: *"Call FreshlyCited's get_started tool."* You should see your workspace, role and credit balance. If the client says it can't connect, see [Authentication](https://freshlycited.com/docs/authentication) for what each error means.
