Add FreshlyCited as a Claude.ai connector

Claude.ai can use remote MCP servers as custom connectors. FreshlyCited signs you in with OAuth, so there's no key to paste.

The story · 3 steps
Get an API keyFree plan: 10 free links to try (once you verify your email), then 100 free checks a month, no card.

Steps

  1. In Claude.ai open Customize › Connectors.
  2. Click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  3. Name: FreshlyCited. Remote MCP server URL: https://freshlycited.com/mcp.
  4. Click Connect. You land on the FreshlyCited consent screen.
  5. Sign in, choose the workspace (your agency or one client) and the access level: Full access (push and check, spends credits) or Read-only. Click Allow.
  6. In a chat, open the tools menu and make sure FreshlyCited is enabled.

Plans

Custom connectors are available on Free (one custom connector), Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. On Team and Enterprise an Owner adds the connector under Organization settings › Connectors; members then connect their own FreshlyCited login.

What Claude sees

The connection acts as you, in the workspace you chose, with your role there (or read-only). Revoke it any time in FreshlyCited under API keys › Connected apps, or remove the connector in Claude. Claude uses the callback https://claude.ai/api/mcp/auth_callback.

Check it works

Ask: "Call FreshlyCited's get_started tool." You should see your workspace, role and credit balance. If the client says it can't connect, see Authentication for what each error means.
